Three samples of LaCoO3 were prepared by two different methods and calcined at 800 or 1000 °C. They had BET areas of 1, 12, and 16 m2/g and all of them showed pure perovskite X-ray diffraction patterns with identical unit cell dimensions. In a series of experiments the oxide, having larger surface area, was stepwise reduced in hydrogen at temperatures between 60 and 500 °C. The XPS spectra, taken at room temperature after evacuation at 400 °C at each reduction level, showed that the surface concentration of Co° was very low up to 300 °C but increased sharply between 300 and 350 °C (9–75%). This concentration further increased to 100% after 10 min reduction at 450 °C, but upon heating in hydrogen for an additional 10 min at 500 °C it decreased again to 75%. In another series of experiments the mixed oxide was reoxidized after each reduction. A fresh sample was reduced to 350 and 400 °C by contacting with hydrogen for 1 hr and evacuated at temperatures between 400 and 500 °C. Both high evacuation temperatures and reduction at 400 °C during 1 hr produced a sharp decrease in Co° surface concentration. These results are consistent with the catalytic behavior of this perovskite reported earlier by E. A. Lombardo et al. (4–7). A model is proposed to interpret the reduction of LaCoO3.  相似文献

An investigation was undertaken on the adsorption and desorption properties of 2‐(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate grafted polyethylene (PE‐g‐PDMAEMA) films to anionic dye anions with one to three sulfonic groups in response to pH and temperature changes. The amounts of dye anions adsorbed on the PE‐g‐PDMAEMA films passed through the maximum values at about pH 3 because of an increase in the protonation of dimethylamino groups caused by a decrease in the pH value. The amounts of adsorbed dye anions decreased below pH 3 because the ionic strength increased with the addition of HCl to adjust the initial pH values of the aqueous dye solutions. The amounts of adsorbed dye anions decreased with an increase in the number of sulfonic groups in the dye molecules at the same pH value because electrostatic repulsion was generated between free sulfonic groups of the dye anions adsorbed onto the PE‐g‐PDMAEMA films and free dye anions in the medium. A large number of dye anions adsorbed were desorbed from the PE‐g‐PDMAEMA film with initial pH values above 11.0. The cyclic processes of adsorption at pH 3.0 and desorption at pH 11.0 were repeated without considerable fatigue. The PE‐g‐PDMAEMA films showed practically regenerative adsorption and desorption behavior in response to the pH changes. In addition, when the dye‐anion‐adsorbed PE‐g‐PDMAEMA films were alternately immersed in water at two different temperatures, dye anions were desorbed in water at higher temperatures without any chemical agents because of the deprotonation of dimethylamino groups and thermosensitive contraction of grafted PDMAEMA chains. These results indicate that PE‐g‐PDMAEMA films can be applied as regenerative ion‐exchange membranes for adsorption and desorption processes of anionic compounds in response to the pH and temperature. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. For optimization of abrasive cut-off operation, wheel wear equation must be identified before the operation is optimized. The equation is obtained by using GMDH algorithm with successive determination of trends containing interactive terms. In the model equation factors of grinding fluid are taken into consideration in addition to the factors of wheel, work material, feed (table speed) and wheel speed. For the identification of the model wheel wear tests are performed under the experimental design treating the above-mentioned factors as independent variables. The grinding ratio (output in the model) can be predicted for combinations of various factors using the model. With the wheel wear equation and machining cost model, the optimum combination of wheel, fluid, feed and wheel speed can be selected for a given work material. The relationships between these variables and the costs are investigated.  相似文献

For the effective use of short-lived radioactive beams, soon to be available at the Tokai Radioactive Ion Accelerator Complex, the authors have developed a radiotracer method for diffusion studies in solids. The experimental test was performed by the measurement of the diffusion coefficients of Li in a sample of the compound βLiAl using an α-emitting radiotracer of 8Li (T1/2=0.84 s). It was found that the time-dependent yields of the α particles from the diffusing 8Li that was initially implanted in the sample could be used as a measure of the diffusivity of the tracer in a nondestructive way. The method was applied to measure the self-diffusion coefficients of Li in βLiGa, and for investigating how the Li diffusion in the Li ionic conductors is affected by the concentration of atomic defects (i.e., the existence of the atomic vacancies of Li and the defects in Ga sites that are replaced by Li).  相似文献

This article describes microstructure control aimed for wear-resistance improvement of Co-based (Co-Cr-W-B-Si) self-fluxing alloy coating by diffusion treatment. The diffusion treatments of thermally sprayed Co-based self-fluxing alloy coating on steel substrate were carried out at 1370-1450 K for 600-6000 s under an Ar gas atmosphere. Microstructural variations of the coating and the interface between the substrate and the coating were investigated in detail. A proper diffusion treatment precipitates two kinds of fine compounds in Co-based matrix. X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and electron probe microanalyzer (EPMA) analysis revealed these precipitates to be a chromium boride dissolving cobalt and a tungsten boride containing cobalt and chromium. The size of each precipitate became larger with increasing treatment temperature and time. A coating with the proper size borides showed a superior wear-resistance. We have developed a two‐way multi‐view 2‐D/3‐D display combining a liquid crystal lens and horizontally and vertically x times‐density pixels (HVxDP) arrangement. The two‐way multi‐view display features the same display resolution in 2‐D and 3‐D modes and a quite small color moiré for landscape and portrait, respectively, when using the HVxDP arrangement. In this paper, we realized suitable 3‐D properties for achieving a good balance between 3‐D moiré and 3‐D crosstalk for landscape and portrait by a two‐way liquid crystal lens with two kinds of focal lengths for the edge part and the center part of the lens.  相似文献

Most active optical range sensors record, simultaneously with the range image, the amount of light reflected at each measured surface location: this information forms what is called a range intensity image, also known as a reflectance image. This paper proposes a method that uses this type of image for the correction of the color information of a textured 3D model. This color information is usually obtained from color images acquired using a digital camera. The lighting condition for the color images are usually not controlled, thus this color information may not be accurate. On the other hand, the illumination condition for the range intensity image is known since it is obtained from a controlled lighting and observation configuration, as required for the purpose of active optical range measurement. The paper describes a method for combining the two sources of information, towards the goal of compensating for a reference range intensity image is first obtained by considering factors such as sensor properties, or distance and relative surface orientation of the measured surface. The color image of the corresponding surface portion is then corrected using this reference range intensity image. A B-spline interpolation technique is applied to reduce the noise of range intensity images. Finally, a method for the estimation of the illumination color is applied to compensate for the light source color. Experiments show the effectiveness of the correction method using range intensity images.  相似文献

Joint approximate diagonalization (JAD) is one of well-known methods for solving blind source separation. JAD diagonalizes many cumulant matrices of given observed signals as accurately as possible, where the optimization for each pair of signals is repeated until the convergence. In each pair optimization, JAD should decide whether the pair is actually optimized by a convergence decision condition, where a fixed threshold has been employed in many cases. Though a sufficiently small threshold is desirable for the accuracy of results, the speed of convergence is quite slow if the threshold is too small. In this paper, we propose a new decision condition with an adaptive threshold for JAD under a probabilistic framework. First, it is assumed that the errors in JAD (non-diagonal elements in cumulant matrices) are given by the exponential distribution. Next, it is shown that the maximum likelihood estimation of the probabilistic model is equivalent to JAD. Then, an adaptive threshold is theoretically derived by utilizing the model selection theory. Numerical experiments verify the efficiency of the proposed method for blind source separation of artificial sources and natural images. It is also shown that the proposed method is especially effective when the number of samples is limited.  相似文献

LMNtal (pronounced “elemental”) is a simple language model based on hierarchical graph rewriting that uses logical variables to represent connectivity and membranes to represent hierarchy. LMNtal is an outcome of the attempt to unify constraint-based concurrency and Constraint Handling Rules (CHR), the two notable extensions to concurrent logic programming. LMNtal is intended to be a substrate language of various computational models, especially those addressing concurrency, mobility and multiset rewriting. Although the principal objective of LMNtal was to provide a unifying computational model, it is of interest to equip the formalism with a precise logical interpretation. In this paper, we show that it is possible to give LMNtal a simple logical interpretation based on intuitionistic linear logic and a flattening technique. This enables us to call LMNtal a hierarchical, concurrent linear logic language.  相似文献

We propose EMD-L1: a fast and exact algorithm for computing the Earth Mover's Distance (EMD) between a pair of histograms. The efficiency of the new algorithm enables its application to problems that were previously prohibitive due to high time complexities. The proposed EMD-L1 significantly simplifies the original linear programming formulation of EMD. Exploiting the L1 metric structure, the number of unknown variables in EMD-L1 is reduced to O(N) from O(N2) of the original EMD for a histogram with N bins. In addition, the number of constraints is reduced by half and the objective function of the linear program is simplified. Formally, without any approximation, we prove that the EMD-L1 formulation is equivalent to the original EMD with a L1 ground distance. To perform the EMD-L1 computation, we propose an efficient tree-based algorithm, Tree-EMD. Tree-EMD exploits the fact that a basic feasible solution of the simplex algorithm-based solver forms a spanning tree when we interpret EMD-L1 as a network flow optimization problem. We empirically show that this new algorithm has an average time complexity of O(N2), which significantly improves the best reported supercubic complexity of the original EMD. The accuracy of the proposed methods is evaluated by experiments for two computation-intensive problems: shape recognition and interest point matching using multidimensional histogram-based local features. For shape recognition, EMD-L1 is applied to compare shape contexts on the widely tested MPEG7 shape data set, as well as an articulated shape data set. For interest point matching, SIFT, shape context and spin image are tested on both synthetic and real image pairs with large geometrical deformation, illumination change, and heavy intensity noise. The results demonstrate that our EMD-L1-based solutions outperform previously reported state-of-the-art features and distance measures in solving the two tasks.  相似文献
